Unlocking the Creative Potential in Every Student

The Kidservatory program introduces elementary students to the exciting world of creative arts, with school-day pull-out classes, after-school offerings, and private lessons.

Distinctives

  • Integrated curriculum with classes in art and music for all grade levels
  • All students graduate having learned to play an instrument
  • Multiple performance opportunities in theatre, dance, and music throughout the year
  • Exciting after-school offerings

After-school Kidservatory Classes

Our students have the wonderful opportunity to enjoy the arts after school through the Kidservatory program. Music, art, theatre, and dance classes are taught by experienced and inspiring Conservatory faculty. Engaging offerings such as Fun with Drums, Adventures in Art, Heavenly Harps, and Dance Express are just a few of the many after-school enrichment classes offered on the Leigh campus.

School Day Enrichment Classes

Artistic instruction is an integral part of the day-to-day school program at VCES. Each class meets with a music teacher for weekly lessons in singing, theory, appreciation, and more. By fourth grade, each student participates in the Fourth Grade Wheel, receiving a hands-on introduction to a variety of musical instruments, ranging from violin and cello to trumpet and trombone. Instrumental instruction is part of the artistic specialized program during the regular school day, and different vocal and instrumental groups perform several times a year at events throughout the community, such as Christmas at the California and the VCS Festival of the Arts.
