Dear Valley Christian Athlete/Parents,My name is Mr. Erik Ellefsen, and I have begun my 18th year in education and athletics and my 2nd full year at VCHS. I have been a high school coach, teacher, and administrator in California, Chicago, and Boston the past 14 years, and before that I had the opportunity to work at two colleges as head recruiter for the baseball teams. Besides my main duties as an Academic and College Counselor, I will be working with the VCHS Athletic Department to support and encourage our athletes in their pursuit of playing collegiate athletics.
My role will be threefold:
- Ensure that students are tracking their high school progress through the NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Center websites.
- Provide support and advice to students, parents, and our coaches as they seek out collegiate opportunities.
- Create opportunities for students and parents to learn more about the recruitment process and when necessary help develop a strategic plan for recruitment.
It is our sincerest belief that there is an opportunity for all of VCHS student-athletes to play collegiate athletics; whether that be locally or nationally, DI or DIII, whether scholarship or walk-on. My goal is to get to know you, your goals, and how I might assist you and the VCHS Athletic Department in your journey.
