FEBRUARY WINTER PLAY:  THE WESTING GAME 

“The unsuspecting residents of Sunset Towers are summoned to the reading of a mysterious will, only to find themselves locked in a thrilling game, as they discover who is responsible for killing an eccentric millionaire. Through blizzards, bombings, and unlikely alliances, the game is on, and the only people who hold all the clues are on the Westing heir and you.”

Auditions:  December 10 & 11, 3:30pm - 5:30pm in the Black Box

Worship Team Auditions 

HS  & JH Worship Teams – Video Audition Deadline March 1, 2015

  1. Log-in to www.vcs.slideroom.com   Create an account or log-in.
  2. Choose 2015-16 High School Worship Team Audition or 2015-16 Junior High School Worship Team Audition
  3. Answer the questionnaire, and also put in the email address of a teacher who could recommend you for Worship Team. Tell that teacher that he or she will receive an email from SlideRoom, and to click on the link in the email to answer the questions. No form for them to write out!
  4. You can record and upload your video using an ipad. There is a file size limit, so keep your song to under 2 minutes.
  5. Don't forget to hit SUBMIT at the end. There is a $7 fee to submit your audition, payable to SlideRoom via credit card.

What to record:

  • Vocalists - Sing a 1-2 minute popular worship song from your church or school. If you play an instrument while singing, you are free to do so.
  • Drums - demonstrate the following styles:  Swing, Bossa, Rock, Funk, Mambo Brushes.
    In your questionnaire, describe your drumming experience (at church, in a group, etc.) and number of years of lessons.
     
  • Guitar - demonstrate the styles you can play:  Rock, Jazz, Classical, Blues, Worship In your questionnaire, describe your guitar experience (at church, in a group, etc.) and number of years

Dance Auditions

Dance Arts Auditions (8th Graders Moving to HS & NEW HS students):
  • May 4th 2020- HS Hip Hop Dance Placement Auditions (Dance Studio)
    • HH 2  3:30-4:30pm
    • HH3   4:30pm-5:30pm

May 5th 2020- HS Dance Technique Placement Auditions (Dance Studio)

  • DT 2  3:30-4:30pm
  • DT 3  4:30pm-5:30pm

Students who want to take Dance 1, Tap 1, or Hip Hop 1 DO NOT need to audition. Simply sign up for the class.

Vivid Dance Team Auditions 2020-21 Season:

The Vivid Dance Team will still be accepting applications and holding audition during distance learning due to COVID-19, however, the structure and format will change. The health and safety of our dancers, coaches, faculty and families is our top priority.

The Application/Audition process will be in 4 stages.

A.  Initial Video Submission: from all incoming freshmen and new to Vivid applicants. (Returning Vivid members skip to B) 
The video must include, 

  1. A solo routine
  2. Group performance
  3. Any extra skills you feel are your specialty (optional) 

B.  Application: Once received you will be given information for the online audition.

  1. Written questions
  2. Two letters of recommendations (at least one current dance instructor)
  3. Signed parent agreement 
  4. Headshot

C.  Video Audition: These components will be sent to our judges 

  1. Two combinations of jazz and lyrical
  2. Turn combinations
  3. Leaps/jumps
  4. Flexibility 

D.  Interview with coaches via Zoom

  1. All applicants who have made it past the audition portion will receive a date and time for an interview.
TIMELINE
  • March 30th Initial Video Submission due by 3:00pm
  • April 8th Application due by 3:00pm
  • April 22nd Video Audition Submission due by 3:00pm
  • April 27-29th Interviews
